About your speaker
Mathew Forde is a partner in the commercial law firm, Forde Campbell LLC, based in Belfast, with over 20 years’ experience as a specialist in commercial law and intellectual property. Mathew advises a range of clients from design to manufacturing to retail to media & entertainment on best practices for protecting, policing, monetising and enforcing their intellectual property rights and reputations.
Mathew advises clients on contentious matters and has considerable experience as a commercial litigator enforcing, challenging and defending his commercial client’s intellectual rights and the protection of business reputations. In particular, Mathew specialises in cases involving copyright, trademark rights, passing off, design rights, breach of confidentiality, patent rights, trade secrets and defamation among others. He also advises on regulatory compliance issues. Mathew has acted for clients in the UK before the High Court, Court of Appeal, House of Lords (now Supreme Court) and Privy Counsel. He also has extensive experience litigating overseas before the EUIPO, the US (New York), Canada and New Zealand.
